EUregions week 2020

The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance. As part of this program,  Studio Europa will host an online Zoom workshop.

Program description:
At Studio Europa, our aim is to position Maastricht as a meeting place for citizen dialogue and debate on Europe and establish a Centre of Excellence for interdisciplinary research on Europe and European integration. Gonny Willems, managing director at Studio Europa will open the workshop with a brief presentation of our work and governance structure. The latter is particularly innovative since the programme stems from a partnership between the Municipality of Maastricht, the Province of Limburg and Maastricht University. Our programme maker Melih Ozkardes will then briefly present three of our most important projects that aim at broadening the scope of our (local) audience. Partners with whom we have worked on these projects will also be present and common challenges will be discussed. The workshop will end with an exchange with the audience on the best and worst practices in the field of (local) citizen engagement all across Europe.”
