Pint of Science Festival: The EU and you: far away or close by?

The Pint of Science festival brings researchers to your local pub, where they will tell you about the latest news in their scientific world. On 23 May at 19.30 in restaurant STAN, SEM’s postdoctoral researchers Koen van Zon and Soetkin Verhaegen will share their findings in their research on how European and international institutions interact with citizens and vice versa.

A project of democrats or technocrats? A historical look at the EU. Koen van Zon is a historian researching the history of the European Union. He is concerned with how European institutions relate to citizens and vice versa. How has that relationship and our thinking about democracy changed over time?
