On Monday, 19 April from 9.00 to 12.00, together with the European Youth Parliament, Studio Europa Maastricht is organising an online workshop about digital innovation issues in the Euregion. During this special event, regional businesses can meet with 200 ambitious young people between the ages of 18 and 24 from all over Europe. Together they will the discuss digital challenges of the future.
From 15 to 20 April, participants in the European Youth Parliament will debate policy issues such as smart cities of the future, energy-efficient technologies, data processing, digital education, hybrid threats in warfare and much more. For each subtheme, participants will delve into how European agreements can contribute to a fair, sustainable, innovative and ethically responsible digital future for Europe.
On 19 April, the young parliamentarians will put their knowledge and findings into practice and will work on cases from companies in the Euregion. During an interactive Workplace Europe, concrete solutions will be offered for the problems real companies are facing. Afterwards, the results will be presented in a report and shared with the participants of the workshop as well as the partners of the Maastricht, Working on Europe programme (the Province of Limburg, Maastricht University and the City of Maastricht).
About the European Youth Parliament
This year, the theme of the European Youth Parliament is The Digital Generation: Setting an Innovative Agenda. From 15 to 20 April, 200 young people between 18 and 24 years-old will discuss ten important digital issues facing society. The European Youth Parliament initially planned to meet in Maastricht, but due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the event will now be organised digitally from Maastricht. Almost 30 years after the signing of the Maastricht Treaty, a new generation is going to work on issues that did not even exist then.
Is your company or organisation dealing with digitisation and do you have a concrete case you would like to present to the European Youth Parliament? Would your company like to meet the European leaders of tomorrow? Please contact Annelies van Rijen (email: email@example.com / tel:+31 6 39190856)!
