The magazine Europa voor en tegen paints a nuanced picture of the European Union using current, and often debated, topics placed in a historical perspective.
This magazine is aimed at a general audience (16+). It has also been designed to fit the curriculum of high school seniors. On this page, teachers and students can find more information about how to use the magazine, downloads and pre-ordering options.
Europa voor en tegen was developed by Studio Europa Maastricht in cooperation with the makers of the Dutch historical news publication Historisch Nieuwsblad and educational author Tom van der Geugten.
The English edition of Europa voor en tegen will be published at the end of 2023. It is available for pre-order now.

Use for history and/or social studies school examinations
For the final years of the Dutch HAVO or VWO educational levels (or equivalent), the magazine can be used for the final school examinations in history and/or social studies. For both subjects, all chapters or a selection thereof can be covered to avoid overlap.
Free class set
Students can work in class with a hardcopy of the magazine and outside with a pdf version that can be downloaded on this page after the English edition of Europa voor en tegen is published (expected release: end of 2023).
Teachers can now pre-order a free class set (English edition) using the form on the website.
